Donate Stock & Securities
Turn Your Investments Into Meaningful Impact
Supporting HEFT doesn't have to mean making a cash donation. Gifts of appreciated stocks, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and eligible mutual funds can help advance hydrogen and clean transportation education, workforce readiness, and partnerships that benefit our communities.
Donating securities directly may also offer tax advantages compared with selling those investments and donating the proceeds.
Why Donate Securities?
Donating appreciated investments can be a tax-efficient way to support a cause you believe in.
Depending on your circumstances, donating eligible securities directly to HEFT may allow you to:
Avoid recognizing capital gains that might otherwise result from selling appreciated investments.
Qualify for a charitable income tax deduction based on the securities' fair market value, subject to applicable tax rules.
Make a meaningful contribution without drawing on your available cash.
Tax benefits depend on factors including the type of security, how long you've owned it, and your individual tax situation. We encourage you to consult your tax advisor before making a contribution.
